Data Sources & Methodology

Sources

Public traffic summaries come from purchased licensed data whose public use the operator has confirmed. TrafTruth displays modeled estimates, not first-party analytics, and makes no claims about undisclosed upstream sampling methods or accuracy rates. Product context links official sources; calculated observations are separate from editorial interpretation.

Measurement scope

Each page names its research domain. Upstream host and subdomain aggregation can affect coverage; separate domains are not silently combined. Visits are not unique people, app downloads, API calls, paid seats or revenue. Desktop and browser products have different usage surfaces.

Months, refreshes and history

The data month identifies the measurement period; the fetched date identifies the last API check. Data content time changes only when public values change, not when an unchanged result is fetched again. Clearly dated historical snapshots remain readable and indexable unless manually excluded. Updates depend on operational deployment and are not promised in real time.

Calculations

Monthly change is (current visits / immediately preceding month visits - 1) times 100%. It is unavailable when the prior month is missing or zero. Percentages are rounded for display; visits retain integer precision. Only four main channels and three regions are public, so shares need not total 100%. Missing values are unknown, not zero.

Category rankings

Rankings cover tracked products only, not an entire industry. They use the latest month present in the sample, with at least 10,000 current visits; growth additionally requires 10,000 visits in the adjacent prior month. A category needs two eligible products. Categories are editorial, and different usage surfaces limit comparability. This is not a quality ranking.

Automated observations and corrections

Deterministic rules summarize visits, monthly change and the largest displayed channel and region. They do not infer funding, revenue or causes of growth. Send domain, source or display corrections to support@traftruth.com with the page URL and data month. Public summaries exclude full Pro history; app report generation remains an explicit user action.
